WARWICK has spoken and Kmart is what residents want judging by the response to a Warwick Daily News Facebook post.

Warwick resident Jessica Jeffs asked for a Kmart to be built in Warwick and that attracted more than 700 likes and 440 comments in 24 hours.

With expansions to Rose City Shoppingworld under way, many residents were quick to speculate that the new additions would include room for a Kmart.

The discount store is not currently included in the plans.

That didn't stop shoppers from taking to social media to express their wish for a greater variety of shopping options and job opportunities.

Residents will have to wait to see if Kmart takes notice of the groundswell of support.
