Tigers and Roosters in close game before late blow out
RUGBY LEAGUE: Tenterfield Tigers have beaten Inglewood Roosters 30-10 in the Border Rugby League President's Cup final.
The game between the leaders at the end of the second round was played at Rugby League Park, Tenterfield, on Saturday afternoon.
Inglewood scored the first try of the game through back rower Jamie Meddings but missed the conversion.
Tenterfield levelled the score at 4-all and then took the lead at 10-4.
Inglewood scored again and converted to level the score at 10-all before Inglewood lost forward Tim West with a knee injury which resulted in the game being stopped for some time.
Tenterfield then ran away with the game in the second half.
Inglewood pair Brent Osborne and Brent Hearne came through the game without injury and will play for the Queensland Outback team in an NRL curtain-raiser in Cairns on Sunday.
