TOUCH: New teams and players are welcome to Warwick Touch Association muster on Wednesday, July 25, at the Warwick Redbacks Aussie rules clubhouse.

Association president Justin Nolan said more than 500 players were involved in the first season this year.

"Traditionally the second season is bigger than the first season and we would love to attract 550 players,” he said.

"Players who wish to represent Queensland in touch rugby can go to state trials where the teams are selected and then aim for national selection after the interstate series at Coffs Harbour.”

Club teams are divided into five or six grades with the emphasis on putting teams in grades so players of similar abilities meet in games on a Wednesday night.

Games are played from 6.30pm each Wednesday at the touch fields and also at Collegians and Eastern Suburbs Junior Rugby League grounds, Warwick Redbacks Aussie rules, Warwick Cowboys and Warwick Water Rats fields.

Nolan said players not attached to a team could still nominate.

"We will try to find a team needing more players or form a new team as we did in the second season last year when the Unknowns team was formed.

Players are asked to be at the Redbacks clubhouse between 6pm and 7.30pm to register as individuals or teams. Anyone unable to attend the muster can email warwicktouchfooty@hotmail.com, register on the association facebook page or call Nolan on 0401323076.
