FOR Emma Pails, wearing a showgirl sash is more than just a fashion statement, but a symbol of pride and passion for her community.

For the past year, Ms Pails has been the face of the Warwick Show, but come March, she will hand over her crown to the 2013 winner.

Ms Pails encouraged anyone considering entering the quest to nominate today.

"We're calling for showgirl entrants now," she said.

"Just give it a go - even if you don't win, it's really fun and you'll meet heaps of great people."

Girls will be sashed at the Silhouette Ball on March 23.

Ms Pails advised girls to sign up earlier rather than later, so they could get their fundraising under way.

"You really want to get in early for this because if you're planning a big event as the fundraiser, the more time you have and more notice you can give people, the more they are likely to show up," she said.

Ms Pails said while she was sad to give up her crown, she knew the position would be filled by a worthy entrant.

"It is a bit sad, I like having my crown at home, but the 2013 showgirl will definitely have a blast."

So, if you've ever thought about entering the showgirl quest, take Ms Pails' word for it, and pick up your nomination form from the Warwick Showgrounds office.

Nominations must be in by Friday, March 8.

Categories include Warwick Showgirl, Warwick Junior Showgirl, Warwick Showgirl Fundraiser and Warwick Showgirl Runner Up.
