Tino dreams about NRL but Mustangs game today
RUGBY LEAGUE: He's in Year 12, weighs 115kg, has a manager and wants to play in the NRL.
Tino Stowers, a student at Assumption College, this week made the Border district open schoolboys' team to try out for the Darling Downs side.
He currently has a contract with the Canterbury Bulldogs which means he heads to Sydney for two camps each year.
Stowers might not be certain what it takes to make it to the NRL but is already working out each day in the gym, which is a great start.
Originally from New Zealand, he moved with his family to Warwick almost a decade ago.
Stowers has played junior footy with Collegians in Warwick and has also played for Valleys in Toowoomba.
Today will join the Western Mustangs under-18 team playing in a curtain- raiser to the 6.30pm All Stars game in Toowoomba.
Brothers, Coen and Cruise Martin-Brown, from Warwick, are also in the Mustangs side, both having experience with the Warwick Cowboys and Warwick High sides.
Assumption student Taegan Inmon is in the centres in the U16 Mustangs team. Will Robinson (Goondiwindi) and former Warwick player Zack Stevens are also involved in curtain raisers.
Cowboys at home
THE Warwick Cowboys will host Wattles in three games at Father Ranger Oval on March 4.
The annual Barrett Shield creates a lot of passion in both club and the Cowboys were boosted by a 52-18 win against Aspley last weekend.
