Tiny lens has a wave of surfers shooting from the inside

AS a surfer and film student, Nolan Full always thought about getting out in the water with a camera, but until now he could not afford it.

"Travelling and surfing between Tweed Heads and Ballina, there are always opportunities to get out in the water and get some great shots," said Mr Full.

Now thanks to the latest GoPro 3 camera, Mr Full can shoot both video and photos from the water.

"Most of the video equipment I use in film making is too heavy and too expensive to take out in the surf, but the GoPro makes it quick and easy," he said.

"The fact that this new camera takes images at a very fast speed helps when capturing a person in a wave or just an empty wave, as stuff all happens very fast out in the water."

A fairly wide angle lens is required for the type of shots Mr Full takes as the inside of a wave can be a tight squeeze, and the GoPro provides him with an almost 180 degree view from its tiny lens.

Mr Full intends on fine tuning his water photography skills and even putting some images on display.

Most recently he has been capturing friends body surfing, and some of the results are spectacular.

It is obvious Mr Full has a knack for putting his camera in the right place at the right time and we may see more of his work in the future.
