Toast of the Rose City cuts it in Singapore
ONE of Warwick's busiest hair salons has proven it's a cut above the rest, taking out a national award presented by a renowned Australian hair care brand.
Clare's Hair Together and True Beauty was named as the De Lorenzo ASPYA Australian Salon of the Year in a ceremony in Singapore last week, much to the joy of the salon's busy management team.
Salon owner Clare Jeffries travelled to Singapore for the 2014 ASPYA conference with manager Jacinta Lock and promotions officer/stylist Storm Lahiff.
Mrs Jeffries, whose salon was also awarded highly at the Warwick Business Excellence awards last year, said it was an exciting and unexpected win for her salon and its hardworking team.
"Our team is honoured to be a part of the De Lorenzo family and being part of ASPYA has inspired our team to reach new heights, continue the education, personal growth and passion our team has for the industry, our clients and this amazing Australian-owned and made company," she said.
The Salon of the Year award was presented to the management team by representatives of De Lorenzo, including co-director Chris De Lorenzo.
Mr De Lorenzo said he was overwhelmed by the hard work and commitment of the salon.
"Our salons are challenged to be continually innovative, professional and welcome opportunities for growth and learning," Mr De Lorenzo said.
"Clare's Hair Together and True Beauty demonstrated these things with passion and that is why they were awarded the ASPYA 2014
Salon of the Year."
Reflecting on the successful trip to Singapore, Ms Lahiff said the five days in the city were a visual creative feast for the senses.
"That evening is still one that gives the Clare's Hair Together & True Beauty team goosebumps as our name was called out as the De Lorenzo ASPYA Australian Salon of the Year for 2014," Ms Lahiff said.
"It was such an overwhelming feeling for our team to have achieved such a prestigious award for all of our hard work and the passion and training that we put into our craft - the feeling was and still is phenomenal," she said.
The conference hosted more than 400 delegates from salons across Australia and included an educational demonstration by three-time British hairdresser of the year Akin Konizi.
Ms Lahiff said as the team stepped onto the streets of the city infused with the smell of rice and intense heat, it was hard to ignore the fact they were in Singapore.
"It's a city where different religions and values live in harmony, a fitting place for the De Lorenzo a natural, ethical and Australian-owned and made brand to hold its 2014 ASPYA conference," she said.
Clare's Hair Together and True Beauty has won multiple awards, with a team of passionate, multi-award winning stylists.
