Top clash in Big Q in a fortnight at WIRAC

BASKETBALL: The postponement of the Warwick Wildcats Heathley Big Q Basketball League match against the Toowoomba Mountaineers development side on Sunday enabled Warwick A and reserve-grade sides to play a scratch match.

"The A-grade team won by 20 points as they should have but it was a good opportunity for the five A-grade players who played,” Wildcats spokesman/assistant coach Jeff Clark said.

"Sam Wall and Jon Cruda played well for the reserve-grade team while Josh Cremasco and Ash Williamson were the best of the A-grade players,” Clark said.

"Ash was part of the Wildcats juniors team which won the regional championships three years in a row. He has played in Mt Isa and is now based in Ipswich and part of the Warwick Wildcats.”

This weekend will be a bye for all teams and then on Saturday week, Warwick will play Runnin Rebels at WIRAC.

"Our A-grade team is the only one that has beaten Runnin Rebels in the competition so far,” Clark said.

On the same program, the only two unbeaten teams in reserve grade will meet, Wildcats Green and Runnin Rebels Blue.

The Warwick-based players in the Wildcats teams kept up their form with a game each Wednesday in club fixtures.
