Top effort by last pair for Allora
CRICKET: Sixteen-year-old Will Ole scored 83 not out for Allora but it wasn't enough for his team to beat Rosewool Redbacks in Condamine Cup cricket at Slade Park on Sunday.
Batting first, Allora made 9-163. Ole was 83 not out at the end of the 40th over after being in an unbroken 38-run partnership with No.11 batsman Mitchell Scheiwe.
"Mitchell rotated the strike well,” Ole said.
Ole hit 14 fours in his innings and was praised by the opposition for his classy batting.
Luke Costello was the best bowler for Redbacks with 3-22.
In reply, James Kurtz was not out for the second week running. He scored 39 last weekend in a Davis Shield win and 56 not out on Sunday at Slade Park.
Redbacks scored the winning runs in 17 overs, Coen Slatter the only man out for 71 in 1-166.
There will be no club cricket this weekend due to the Condamine Sports Club Warwick Australia Day Cricket Carnival.
