Top effort in the WDJRL final by Gremlins

RUGBY LEAGUE: The Stanthorpe under-15 league tag team put up one of the best performances on grand final day in the Warwick and District Junior Rugby League.

Tenterfield has been unbeaten for two seasons but in the grand final Stanthorpe held them to a 30-22 win at Sullivan Oval in Stanthorpe.

In under-17 league tag, Stanthorpe won 8-4 against Goondiwindi in the lowest scoring game of the day.

Goondiwindi had three teams in grand finals and started the day with a 24-10 under-12 win against Collegians.

Collegians White kicker Tom Doherty landed a sideline conversion on full-time to give his side a 26-24 win against Wattles in under-14..

In the under-16 game, Collegians won 32-22 against Goondiwindi.

Best and fairest winners for the season were Isabel Kay (under-15 Stanthorpe), Mia Byrnes (under-17 MIT Jets), Derrick Craigie (under-14 Goondiwindi) and Ky Rashleigh (under 16 Stanthorpe).

The club volunteer of the year was Kevin Mooney from Tenterfield, Collegians won the club championship and match official of the year was Chris Henderson. The match official encouragement award was won by Hayden Fuhrman-Luck.

The 2020 Central Crows carnival will be in Warwick.
