Golf club set for charity events

CHARITY events and championship play are intermingled in the annual program of the Warwick Golf Club.

Club president Don Stewart said there were two charity events and an open carnival on the next three Sundays.

“We attract a lot of non- golfers to charity days as well as regular players,” Stewart said.

“The club encourages a mix of golfers and non- golfers in charity day teams.”

The next charity day is the annual Angel Flight Open Day on Sunday.

The Dementia Open Day is on May 9, and the Warwick Golf Club Open Carnival on May 15-16.

Stewart said many Brisbane social clubs organised annual weekend trips to play golf in Warwick.

“These trips bring money into the club and town each year,” Stewart said.

Nominations for the Angel Flight and Dementia days can be made to the pro shop on 4661 3664.
