Top polo players on field

POLOCROSSE: Several state representative polocrosse players will roll into Killarney this weekend as they tune up for the Australian National Polocrosse Championships.

The annual Killarney Polocrosse Carnival will have 30 teams and almost 200 players competing, with some coming from as far as New South Wales and western Queensland.

Killarney Polocrosse Club vice president Col Bloomfield said the tournament would be a good warm-up for those going to the national championships.

"The tournament does not serve as a selection carnival for anything else but there will be some players who do go on to the nationals so it will be good for them," Bloomfield said.

Play will run from 8.30am to 3.30pm tomorrow and 8.30am to around 3pm Sunday.
