WARWICK junior cricketers had their moment in the spotlight yesterday when end-of-season presentations were held at Slade Park.

Warwick Christian College student Will Ole took out the player of the final trophy after scoring 45 runs and taking one wicket in yesterday's final.

"It's nice in the last year to do something in the final," he said.

"Every other year I've gone out for ducks or threes."

Ole has been playing cricket since he was nine years old and already plays for the senior cricket team in Allora.

He said he plans to continue playing senior cricket, enjoying the social side of the game the most.

"You get to hang out with your mates for a day," he said.

At the presentations, Warwick Cricket Association junior president Andrew Bryson reflected on the season, saying despite five or six washouts, morale among players remained high.

Player numbers were strong in the under 11 age group, he said, and the players were showing good skill.

"They're improving well and should leave Warwick cricket in a good space for the next couple of years," he said.

"I believe the standard of play is as high as I've seen in quite some time."

Bryson said numbers were down in the under 16 age group, but the association would meet in the next couple of weeks to devise a strategy to increase numbers.

"We always encourage them to keep playing, it's always a good way to meet new people and teaches life skills," he said.

The top run scorers and wicket takers were also named in yesterday's presentations.

The winners were:

Under 11s:

- Highest run scorer: Cooper March

- Highest wicket taker: Fletcher Tate-Roche

Under 13s:

- Highest run scorer: Ged Esson

- Highest wicket taker: Jack Wright

Under 16s:

- Highest run scorer: Josh Hagenbach

- Highest wicket taker: Jordan Stonehouse
