Tough day at the office for the Warwick Wolves

FOOTBALL: The Warwick Wolves went down in all three games in Football Toowoomba fixtures at the weekend.

In premier football, Warwick lost 4-1 at Gatton after leading 1-0 at halftime.

Jonny Enosa scored for Warwick after 30 minutes.

Wolves president Cameron Davey said mistakes cost Warwick dearly in the second half.

"We went to Gatton with a full team and three on the bench which was good to see,” Davey said.

Warwick is almost to the stage that it has to win all three home games in the next three weeks to stay in finals contention.

The Wolves' first home game is this Saturday night.

More players are welcome at training on Tuesday and Thursday.

The Warwick women went down in their Toowoomba club game at Highfields.

In the 16/17 years junior competition, leaders West Wanderers scored a 6-0 win against a Warwick team which has been second for most of the season.

The game was played at Withcott at noon Saturday and Warwick had the bare 11 players for the game.

Wolves coach Peter Darton rated Jacob Walters and Declan Murphy as his best players against West Wanderers.

THE Warwick Wolves will hold their annual junior carnival on July 22 and it is expected to attract more than 30 teams.

Glen Innes is a regular at Warwick carnivals and it is expected teams from Toowoomba and Stanthorpe areas will play.

Association officials hope that South Burnett teams will also make the trip to Warwick.

The Warwick juniors are now at the start of their mid-season break.

Junior fixtures will not be played on the next three weekends before resuming on July 21 which will give the Queens Park fields a break from play.
