Town ices over

THOSE shivering in their work boots yesterday were not alone as temperatures dropped to -4 in the wee hours of the morning.

Today was much the same story, with a predicted frost and temperatures to match.

Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Ben Annells said the cool temperatures were not budging.

"At this stage it looks like (today) will be much the same (as yesterday) with a high of about 17 degrees," Mr Annells said.

"(Tomorrow) we're looking at a low of -1 or -2 and a top of about 16 degrees and similar over the weekend."

The sun is expected to keep shining this week, with the chance of slight cloud cover late tomorrow.

"There is moisture coming in from the coast. We're not likely to see rain, but it is possible in the afternoons over the weekend," Mr Annells said.

The average low for July is 2.8 degrees so, Warwick, we've already smashed that one.
