SDRC town planner to hold sessions
AFTER a busy drop-in day on Monday in Warwick, residents of Maryvale, Dalveen and Stanthorpe are urged to take advantage of a Southern Downs Regional Council town planner visiting their region this week to find out how the proposed new Southern Downs Planning Scheme will affect their land and neighbourhoods.
A planner will be available this week at:
Today at Maryvale (11am to 7pm – Maryvale Hall)
Tomorrow at Dalveen (11am to 7pm – Dalveen Hall)
Friday at Stanthorpe (9am – 4pm – council Office)
Mayor Ron Bellingham launched the proposed new planning scheme for the Southern Downs Region on Thursday, July 28.
“The proposed Southern Downs Region Planning Scheme is the first planning scheme for the whole of the region,” Cr Bellingham said.
“It is an important document as it provides direction for future development in our region, and has been prepared after substantial, focused consultation with the community over three years,” he added.
Log on to http://www.southerndowns.qld.gov.au/nps/ to view the scheme.
You can read a copy of the planning scheme at the council offices in Warwick and Stanthorpe.
The submission period closes on Friday, September 16. It is important to make sure any submissions are received by council by that date.
