Man's arm crushed after caravan rolls onto him
IT TAKES a lot to keep a Central Queenslander down - and for one man, being crushed by a caravan was no exception.
The Emerald man had his left arm crushed while he was working underneath a caravan on Tuesday afternoon.
The 21-year-old said he didn't know what all the fuss was about when an ambulance was called.
"I could have just driven myself back (to the hospital)," he said.
The man had been welding the undercarriage of the caravan while it was on jacks, when it rolled back on to him.
"It just rolled and my arm got stuck underneath," he said.
"It was lucky the other guy lying underneath wasn't injured, he was small enough to avoid being squashed by the caravan."
The RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service airlifted the man from Emerald to Rockhampton Hospital.
The Morning Bulletin's attempts to contact the man failed.
