Treasures from across the globe at antiques fair
FOR just $200, one lucky Warwick resident could take home this 19th century Chinese scroll.
Made in the early 1800s, the scroll is one of thousands of rare, antique and collectable items on sale at the Warwick Antiques and Collectables Fair this weekend.
Kicking off Friday night, the fair is a drawcard event for collectors, both serious and novice alike.
St Mary's Hall will be transformed into an impressive showcase of antiques and collectables from all over the world.
Organised by antiques and collectables dealers Bronwyn and Keith Stringer, this year is the second annual fair.
Mrs Stringer said the aim of the fair was to cater for all tastes and budgets
"Prices are competitive and the range of items for sale is fantastic, enabling customers to view many different dealers all together under one roof, instead of travelling to twenty or more different establishments," she said.
"Georgian and Victorian jewellery, English and European porcelain, silver, glass, linen, lamps, collectables and furniture, both rustic and traditional will be displayed with great care and pride."
The fair will open Friday night at 5pm with nibbles available.
The fair continues on Saturday from 9am-5pm and Sunday from 9am-3pm.
Tickets for the weekend are available at the door.
Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for pensioners and a weekend pass is $10.
Children under 14 can get in to the fair for free.
A Cancer Council raffle will be drawn on Sunday at noon with three different prizes up for grabs.
