Tribe successful in interstate holiday rodeos

WARWICK saddle bronc rider Peel Tribe recorded three placings in as many rodeos during the holiday period in New South Wales and Victoria.

Tribe was third at the Myrtleford Rodeo, fourth at Tumbarumba and fifth at Yarrawonga.

He wasn't the only Southern Downs placegetter down south.

Swanfels rider Lane Grayson won open and second division saddle bronc rides at Carrieton in South Australia before returning home to finish in the top-four at Goombungee.

Millmerran pair Peter Moffatt and John McNamee were also placed in the southern states.

Moffatt was first at Yarrawonga with a score of 75 and split first with Heath Chalmers at Tumbarumba, also with 75.

McNamee was fourth at Myrtleford and fifth at Yarrawonga and Tumbarumba.

Many of the cowboys from the Darling Downs will be in action in the first APRA rodeo in Queensland this year on February 27 at the Millmerran Showgrounds.
