TRL briefs - round 9
OAKEY vs PITTSWORTH
There may be two huge games taking place tonight, but don't discount the importance of this game, particularly as the competition nears the half-way mark.
Both sides currently sit on six competition points, two wins behind Highfields, Dalby and Warwick.
With Highfields and Wattles facing the top two sides in the TRL, there is every chance one of these teams can get to within a win of the top-five after this game.
Oakey showed patches of brilliance, but their discipline let them down in key stages during their loss to Oakey last weekend.
Pittsworth on the other hand was at their brilliant best, totally dismantling Southern Suburbs.
Wally Pegler played his first game for the Bears last weekend, and hasn't been named in the interim side after travelling to Townsville with the Western Mustangs for their match overnight.
Jordan Boney moves to the win in a straight-swap with centre Samuelu Filimoetau, and Queensland Universities representative Dylan Haiijer has not been named.
Pittsworth keep the same starting 13 as they look to post back-to-back wins.
GATTON vs BROTHERS
These two teams were amongst the most impressive performers in round eight.
Gatton got their season back on track with a dynamic second half to down the Dalby Diehards and keep them within reach of the top-five.
The undefeated streak of Valleys reached it's tightest point to date, with Brothers getting within a converted try of causing the upset of the season.
The result highlights the improvement the young team has shown over the course of the last month.
Gatton coach Shaun Hobson has kept the same 13 together for tomorrow's game, with skipper Dennis Burgoyne named to come off the bench again after making his return from injury last week.
For Brothers, Kyle Walker is out and has been replaced by Costa Charambolus.
DALBY vs GOONDIWINDI
Tomorrow's fixture at Dalby will feature a pair of teams desperate for redemption after last round losses.
The Diehards turned up to play in the first half against Gatton before it all came undone in the second half, with the Hawks running in four unanswered tries.
Goondiwindi showed plenty of fight at home to Highfields, and were poised to level things up before a length of the field intercept hampered their chances.
Corey Blades slots into the fullback spot for Dalby with Shawn Wickham dropping back to the wing.
Michael Krause returns to seven, with Dylan Taylor shifting to the centres.
Tom Davis comes into the fullback spot for Goondiwindi in place of Tom Davis with Tom Halford dropping back to the bench.
