Troop stands proud

THE 11th Light Horse Warwick Montrose Troop graced the Leyburn RSL memorial service on Remembrance Day and brought with them an atmosphere to fit the theme of the day.

As everyone stopped in silence to remember those who fought, those mounted on horses and draped in their uniforms stood proud as the first post played.

The ceremony was the troop's first official event and member Trish Kuhn said they had an enjoyable day.

"It was a great day and well attended," Mrs Kuhn said.

"The horses were well behaved and the riders did a fantastic job.

"Our support crew looked after the static display and sold tickets for our print raffle draw on December 1."

The troop is available for other functions and school based exhibits.

Phone Ray Kuhn on 0407 678 819 for details.
