Trophy night for The Cowboys

THE Warwick Cowboys will hold one of the club's feature events of the year - its annual trophy night - on Saturday.

The rugby league club will find it hard to match the three gala nights held during the visits of the St George Illawarra Dragons in 2011 but trophy nights are always exciting for players and supporters.

Player of the Year awards are presented in each grade as well as some memorial awards and recognition for top club members.

A lot of voluntary work was undertaken from December as the club recovered from the devastation of two floods.

One of the Cowboys achievers so far this season is Stanthorpe-based centre Michael O'Keefe who was named in the Toowoomba Rugby League Rising Star team at the annual TRL Awards.

O'Keefe played in the under-18 side which made the top-five and A-grade level. In some A-grade games, he was the first choice goal kicker.

Tickets for the trophy night on Saturday will be available at the door for $15 each.
