TENNIS: The South Tennis League will conclude for the season at the Warwick Tennis Association Courts on Saturday.

The final round of a competition will be played at 11am Saturday with the finals at 2pm.

Twelve teams from Warwick, Clifton, Toowoomba, Dalby and Chinchilla will be in town for round 5 and the finals.

The Warwick 1 team of James Smith, Peter Le Page, Rob Quinton and Mick Kay will play along with the Warwick 2 combination of James Mainey, Glen Hoffman, Cody Imber and Matthew Sharp.

Teams from Toowoomba, Dalby and Clifton are three of the strongest going into round 5.

Clifton player Lee Russell was ranked in the top-10 in New Zealand before he moved to Australia.

All 12 teams will be part of the finals which will determine placings 1-12.

Each player will have 12 sets of Fast4 tennis during the day.

Fast4 set is first combination to four games and there is no advantage.

The first doubles combination to win four points in a game wins the game.

Association president Nathan Costello said today's tennis would be the major adult tournament for the year in Warwick.

"This is the first year of the South Tennis League and the plans are to expand the league in future seasons and have finals between the leading teams from each region at the end of the season,” he said.

Spectators are welcome to watch the play and those interested in learning more about Warwick tennis welcome to come along to speak to officials.
