Coast couple's bodies found after grandparents raise alarm
POLICE are investigating a possible murder-suicide at Glass House Mountains after the bodies of a man and a woman were found.
Police responded to the Allan Avenue address about 12.30pm on Saturday.
A crime scene has been established in the normally quiet rural neighbourhood.
The couple's daughter had been staying with the grandparents after they had collected her from school on Friday afternoon.
Acting Detective Inspector Daren Edwards said the alarm was raised when the girl's grandparents could not get hold of the couple on Saturday.
The grandparents attended the house on a large rural block and were unable to find the couple, in their 30s to 40.
Police arrived and made the discovery. Police were not confirm how the couple had died but the Daily understands there was evidence of trauma.
Police would not confirm they were investigating a possible murder-suicide.
''Both persons have suffered trauma,'' Det Insp Edwards said.
''At this stage we don't have any information that would indicate we're looking for anyone else other than the residents of that house, but it is a bit early to confirm.''
The couple may have died late on Friday.
Police were scouring through bushland around the property, while forensic police had a tent set up.
Neighbours reported the couple had not been seen often in recent months, according to one report.
The man was reportedly a security guard while the woman worked at a local winery.
