Two charged after man has part of his ear bitten off

TWO men have been charged over an assault in Surfers Paradise in the early hours of this morning where a 19-year-old man allegedly had a small part of his ear bitten off.

Around 2.20am police were called to a disturbance between two groups of men in Orchid Avenue.

Police broke up the fight and detained a number of men at the scene.

During the incident a man sustained an injury to the top of his ear and was transported to hospital for treatment.

A 25-year-old man from Yarragon in Victoria has been charged with grievous bodily harm and will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today.

A 22-year-old man from Parkwood has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on January 25, 2016.
