Two charged after theft, car chase from Noosa overnight

DETECTIVES have charged two men after the theft of one vehicle and the attempted theft of another at Noosa overnight. 

Police will allege about 11pm on Thursday a man entered a home on Seaview Tce, Sunshine Beach and stole a vehicle.

Officers will further allege two men tried to steal another vehicle at the intersection of Reef and Eenie Creek Rd, Noosa Heads, but left when the driver phoned the police.

The two men were intercepted by police, who deployed a tyre deflation device at Griffin, but allegedly fled on foot before being tracked by officers from the dog squad and taken into custody. 

A 23-year-old man from Narangba has been charged with one count each of burglary, receiving tainted property, stealing and two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

A 22-year-old man from Kallangur has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, burglary, receiving tainted property, stealing and two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

They are due to appear in Pine Rivers Magistrates Court today.
