Two Hornets off to Rocky

MITCHELL Forrest will be wearing a different jersey at the Queensland State Junior Rugby League Championships on July 1-5 following his selection in the South West Mustangs under-14 side.

Forrest and Lee Lousick are the two Eastern Suburbs Hornets players to make Mustangs 2010 teams.

Last season, Forrest played for the Capricornia side which won the U13 state championships.

A half-back and five-eighth, he is number 14 for the Mustangs U14 side this season.

The Capricornia side was big compared to most other sides in 2009 and Forrest realises the Mustangs side won’t have such a weight advantage this year in Rockhampton.

Long term, Forrest has his eyes on an NRL career but this year just wants to make the state U14 merit side.

After six season of junior rugby league, Lousick has made his first Mustangs side after being judged best U16 forward at the selection trials in Toowoomba.

“I always play in the front row and want to play NRL footy,” Lousick said.

He scored two tries against Wattles this season.
