Two teams need dry cricket weekend in Warwick

CRICKET: Two teams in Warwick cricket are watching the weather forecast because a wet semi-final day will mean the end of their Condamine Cup season.

In Warwick cricket, there is no provision for a replay if rain intervenes in the first two weeks of the finals.

That means that the fourth-placed A-grade team Redbacks, and the fourth-placed reserve-grade team Sovereign Animals need a fine day for their games to press for a win and game in finals week two.

Wheatvale play Redbacks in the minor semi-final on Sunday at Slade Park in A-grade while Sovereign plays Rascals in the reserves minor semi on Saturday.

As for the teams in the major semi-finals, rain will only mean Maryvale Condamine (A) and Allora (res) qualify for the grand finals and their opponents make week two.
