Two Warwick teams dominate in regional netball

NETBALL: The 14 years team and 12 years Thunder team from Warwick are unbeaten after the first round of the Darling Downs Inter-district Netball at Highfields.

Warwick is unbeaten in the 14 years grade after scoring 122 goals and conceding 19. Jess Mullaly excelled in rebounding and Lily Nolan was strong in defence and in reading the play.

The Warwick Thunder 12 years team had four wins after scoring 80 goals and conceding nine. Charlee Murdoch was outstanding in defence in the carnival last Sunday.

The Warwick 15 years team had three wins and a loss. Emma Boal inspired the team with her intercepts, drives and enthusiasm.

Shelby Scott and Alex Carrie were two who stood out in a fine Warwick 13 years team which had three wins on the day.

Chelsea Schrag played well after being a late replacement in the 12 years Shooting Stars combination. Charlotte Carrie made many terrific intercepts in the mid court. Both Lilly Jones and Claudia Barton made taking rebounds and shooting goals look easy.

Scots 1 and 2 had two wins each while the Warwick 11 years and Scots 3 PGC all showed improvement on the day. This is the first year Scots have played inter-district netball.
