Two women winched to safety

TWO women in their sixties had to be winched to safety off Cunningham's Gap late yesterday afternoon after becoming lost and disorientated while walking.

RACQ CareFlight were called in at around 5:00pm on Sunday evening to locate the missing women and winch them to safety.

RACQ CareFlight Air Crewman Leigh Ansley said the crew located the lost women and winched CareFlight Paramedic Peter Scullet-Dean down the wire to retrieve them off the range.

"Thankfully, when we found the women they were unharmed and did not require any medical treatment," he said.

"They were both well and in good spirits.

"So our Paramedic winched them up into the aircraft and we flew them both back to Warwick," he said.
