Tyres can destroy Easter journey
TYRE, oil and water checks should be the start of everyone’s Easter holiday list.
East Side Tyre and Mechanical owner Brett Atkinson warned car owners to be vigilant as they prepare for trips away to save time and lives.
“Have your vehicle inspected even if it’s not due for a service,” Mr Atkinson said.
Tyre pressure, engine oil levels, fluid levels for radiator, washer bottles should be checked before any adventure on the road to make sure you get there in one piece.
Mechanic Brad Atkinson reminded residents tyres naturally lose one to two pounds a month, and if you overlook a check the tyres may be almost flat and in danger of blowing.
“Blowing a tyre can sometimes be a fatal thing.
Before you start a trip get someone to check it if you are not happy and confident yourself,” Mr Atkinson said.
Once on the road keep an eye on all gauges and lights to make sure your car is at the right temperature.
Don’t forget through the journey to look out for Driver Revivers and have a break and refresh along the road, ensuring you make it to the destination.
Gladfield Driver Reviver will be open from 12 noon tomorrow, 24 hours a day until 6pm Monday.
