Warwick Aussie Rules player honoured as grand final umpire

AUSSIE RULES: Warwick Aussie rules player Cayleb Fidge was goal umpire for the division 1 grand final in Darling Downs AFL.

He officiated in the game which Coolaroo won against Goondiwindi last weekend.

Earlier in the day, he played for the University Cougars side which won the under-12 grand final against South Toowoomba.

His older brother, Jaiden, played in the Cougars U14 team which went down to Dalby on grand final day.

Both boys also compete in orienteering for the Bullecourt Boulder Bounders Orienteering Club and in Warwick junior cricket fixtures.

Redbacks night

THE Warwick Redbacks will hold their club presentation night at the clubhouse at Warwick Credit Union Oval tonight. The club fielded teams in men's A-grade, women's and some junior competitions this season.

The Stephen Gray Medal will be presented to the fairest and best in the men's team and the Jason Wright Shield for Club Person of the Year.

The fairest and best will be presented to one of the players in the women's team and the under-12 teams. Medals will be presented to all players in the U8 and U10 age groups.
