United, Moyes hopes hanging by a thread

AS CALLS for his sacking grow louder by the day, Manchester United manager David Moyes (pictured) faces the prospect of leading the Red Devils to their lowest points tally in a season in the EPL era.

Even more worryingly, European football will be off the agenda next season unless the team, presently seventh on the standings, can climb to sixth by season's end to earn a spot in the second-tier Europa League. A win at home against struggling Aston Villa tonight will be crucial to help that cause.

Nearer the top of the ladder, third-placed Manchester City travels to Arsenal needing a win to stay within striking distance of Chelsea and Liverpool.

Tonight: Man U v Aston Villa, Crystal Palace v Chelsea, Southampton v Newcastle, Stoke v Hull, Swansea v Norwich, West Brom v Cardiff, Arsenal v Man City. Tomorrow night: Fulham v Everton, Liverpool v Tottenham. Monday morning: Sunderland v West Ham.
