Rescue crew free man under slasher

A MAN who was trapped under a slasher on a property on Frees Road north of Warwick this morning has been freed.

Emergency crews were called to the scene just before noon.

The man was trapped beneath the slasher and it was initially feared he was injured by the slasher’s blades, but a Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) spokeswoman said that wasn’t the case.

She said the man was doing mechanical work on the machine when he fell from a stand and landed hard on the ground below.

“He just fell off a stand and suffered a bit of a traumatic injury,” she said.

“It wasn’t as bad as, certainly, we had initially feared.”

The man suffered a serious muscular-skeletal injury but was not cut by one of the slasher blades.

He is now being treated at Warwick Hospital.
