PROSPECTIVE Jumpers and Jazz in July volunteers are asked to urgently fill out their membership forms by today, lest the quirky festival be left with no knitting power to go ahead.

Festival committee selections were postponed at last week's AGM in the hope to get more volunteers on board to organise the 10-day festival which is run entirely by community members since it became an independent not-for-profit organisation.

Marketing and Promotions Coordinator Karina Devine said the Warwick Art Gallery studio was full of eager participants at the AGM on January 23, but many had forgotten to complete the paperwork required to volunteers.

"Last year was the first year we had a membership for the festival and people aren't in the habit of renewing their membership yet,” she said.

Around 30 people - enough to form a decent committee - turned up to the meeting, but only eight were actually eligible to volunteer.

Ms Devine urged prospective volunteers to submit their membership and committee nomination forms by the deadline today.

The committee selection meeting has been rescheduled to take place on Tuesday February 6 at 6pm in the Warwick Art Gallery Studio.

Ms Devine said volunteering on the festival committee or management committee was a positive experience, and people shouldn't be deterred by the fear of commitment.

"You get so much out of it, working with other people toward a common goal is really great thing for your well being and you're making a contribution to the community,” she said.

MS Devine said the organisation was in a good financial position, and was looking forward to announcing the theme of the 2018 festival in coming weeks.

Applicants have until close of business today to register their membership.
