Police car rammed at Moffat Beach

A DRIVER has rammed his ute into a police car on a Moffat Beach street.

Police were conducting mobile patrols yesterday when they passed what they said was a "suspicious looking pair" in a silver Holden Commodore on two occasions in the Caloundra area.

On the third encounter, at Grigor St, police attempted to pull the car over to talk to the driver.

A Police Media spokeswoman said the police got out of their car after a registration check revealed the vehicle was connected to previous incidents of evading police.

The car then accelerated and did a u-turn in the dead-end street, but police blocked the road with their vehicle.

The ute driver reversed and rammed the rear door of the police car before speeding off.

Police were searching for the pair late yesterday.
