Vehicle catches fire in main street

FIREFIGHTERS were called to High St this morning after a vehicle caught fire.

A call was received about 9.15am reporting smoke was coming from a vehicle parked in High St.

Lieutnant Tom Dunn said when firefighters arrived at the scene smoke was issuing from the cabin.

"It looks like it was an electrical fault with the battery,” Lt Dunn said.

There was no one in the car at the time.

"The car is driven by an elderly lady,” Lt Dunn said.

"There were no injuries. Only damages to the vehicle.”
