Victims assaulted during man's eight-business theft spree
A MAN allegedly stole from eight different businesses around Beenleigh yesterday before being caught.
Police say the 21-year-old Buccan man hit a service station on George Street where he reached over the counter and grabbed cash from the till.
Shortly afterwards they allege he entered a service station at Mount Warren Park and reached over the counter again to steal a sum of cash.
They then allege the man entered several other businesses around Beenleigh and Eagleby including two supermarkets, a service station, a chemist, a fast food restaurant and a takeaway food store where he stole cash and food.
Police say the man assaulted victims as they tried to prevent the thefts on two occasions.
When the man fled in a vehicle police crews and Polair were called in.
The vehicle was found in Hugh Muntz Park at Eagleby and the man was taken into custody without incident.
A 21-year-old Buccan man has been charged with 13 offences including robbery and stealing. He is expected to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court tomorrow, November 28.
