Violent offender back on streets
NOTORIOUS Warwick bad boy Beau James Fogarty has been released from jail for what was his most serious offending yet.
The teenager appeared in Warwick Magistrates Court this week and pleaded guilty to taking part in a violent home invasion on May 16.
The court heard Fogarty was one of three males, one of whom was a juvenile, who scaled the balcony of a Warwick residence that night.
It is understood they were seeking revenge for what they believed was mistreatment of one of the men's sisters.
The two victims were allegedly punched repeatedly, kicked in the stomach and threatened with an axe.
Defence counsel for Fogarty said it was difficult to determine Fogarty's role in the events but one witness said he had been punched in the face by each of the offenders.
At one point during Tuesday's proceedings, most of the 18-year-old's supporters were ordered out of the court room.
Magistrate Graham Lee said he believed Fogarty was not taking the matter seriously and joking with friends in the gallery.
Fogarty, who had been in custody since his arrest on May 16, was sentenced to eight months jail but was paroled immediately following his court appearance.
Co-accused Jamie-Lee O'Grady, 20, will have his matter heard on July 24 and his solicitor has indicated he plans to plead guilty to his related charges.
