Virgin Australia's wireless entertainment

On a recent flight from Brisbane to Cairns, I was curious as to why the man sitting next to me was tapping away on his smartphone. I was surprised to discover he was searching for a movie on Virgin Australia's Wireless In-flight Entertainment system. 

Virgin Australia's Wireless In-flight Entertainment is a new entertainment system that allows you to stream content to your own portable device while in the air, from a server on the aircraft. The content is streamed to devices through wireless access points throughout the aircraft.

It's free to access but you need an Apple iPad, iPhone, iPod touch or an Android device. Or a laptop with Microsoft Silverlight. If you're using Microsoft Silverlight, make sure the software is configured correctly and check that the version on your laptop is compatible by loading the test page while connected to the internet.
