Hundreds step back in time
THE Canton of Stegby president Suzanne Usher was happy with the success of yesterday's demonstration in Leslie Park.
Two hundred people had a look at the demonstrations in the park.
The Canton of Stegby is the Warwick branch of The Society for Creative Anachronism.
It looks back on medieval times from the 6th to the 17th century, largely the era before Europeans headed to America and Australia.
Ms Usher, who used the medieval name Merewen Twynham said The Canton of Stegby had 30 members.
"Ten members from Brisbane came up yesterday in their garb," she said.
The biggest event in Queensland is in the Samford Valley on the Queen's Birthday weekend each year.
Rob Lietzow lives at Ipswich and is the current South Brisbane champion. He has been involved since 1987 and takes part in two tournaments a month.
