Sports Volunteer awards open
VOLUNTEER AWARD: Nominations have started flowing in for the Condamine Sports Club Sports Volunteer of the Year award which will be presented at the annual Daily News/Warwick Credit Union Junior Sports Star of the Year awards dinner on Monday, March 21.
It is hoped five to six nominations are received and all nominees will be able to be at the awards dinner along with their families and supporters.
It is not necessary for nominations to come from clubs/associations but it is important that the office bearers are aware nominations are being made as it is the club/association which will receive the $500 winners cheque from the Condamine Sports Club if the nominee wins.
On the night, there will be a presentation to each nominee by the Condamine Sports Club and the winner will receive a trophy.
The winner will be chosen by the junior sports star judges with judging based on information submitted by the nominator. The award will be judged half on work as a volunteer in the past year and half on volunteer work down the years.
Nominations are to be made to gerardw@warwick- dailynews.com.au. For information, phone 46601313.
Twelve junior monthly winners will also be recognised on the night.
