Volunteer pays tribute to youth after awards night
VOLUNTEER AWARD: Greg Carey might have won the Condamine Sports Club Volunteer of the Year award on Tuesday night but for him the highlight of the awards night was the great talent on show among the junior monthly winners.
"I am inspired by the success of the young sports talent in this area and amazed by the way they conducted themselves during the interviews on Tuesday night,” Carey said.
"We can be very proud of the youth in our community.”
He said any volunteer would agree they needed a strong club support team.
"My wife Annette was a great support to me in all my volunteer work and she really loved her rugby league. I am sure all of the volunteer nominees are as proud of their sport as I am of my sport, rugby league. We are privileged so many sporting clubs in Warwick have such great volunteers.”
