YOUR SAY: Voters sick of political party tricks
THERE is lots to ponder over the Christmas break.
The 100 or so members of the Groom branch of the LNP share responsibility for Ian MacFarlane's failed bid to sit again on ministerial leather, but this time as a National.
Just what were they thinking to approve this party trick?
The State Executive of the LNP woke up and narrowly defeated the move.
The voting public is fed up to the back teeth with seeing politicians of all persuasions jockeying for position as "Honourable Members".
Perhaps the executive suddenly remembered Bob Hawke's advice, "The mob (voters) will always work you out."
The only face-saving exercise PM Turnbull could have done was to do a "Joe Hockey" for Ian.
The American Ambassador post is gone but surely a posting to a small country that has an agrarian based economy would have suited farmer Ian down to the ground?
