VW drags car set to be a hit
CRAIG Hughes from VW Magazine has no doubt a new type of Volkswagen drag racing car to be driven by Rod Penrose this weekend will delight the crowd at the VWMA series meeting at the Warwick Dragway.
Hughes said Rod Penrose would arrive in Warwick on Thursday and test the car on Friday. "The design of this car has not been seen before," Hughes said.
There are 94 entries for the series round, including 30 from interstate.
This year, Western Australian driver Simon Thompson will drive a blue sports sedan owned by Sydney driver Wayne Penrose at the weekend.
Hughes said a driver from South Australia would also borrow a car for a weekend of drag racing.
"We have five drivers coming from Victoria, more than 20 from New South Wales and the rest from Queensland," Hughes said.
