VW Warwick weekend will attract 100 plus drivers

VOLKSWAGENS in all their glory will be at Leslie Park from 9am tomorrow as part of the VW Warwick weekend.

Craig Hughes from VW Magazine Australia has run the event in conjunction with the Warwick and District Drag Racing Association for the past decade.

The Saturday action will start with the display of cars for the public to inspect from 9.30am to 11.30am tomorrow.

The drivers will then head to the Warwick Dragway for the 1pm start of racing.

For many of the drivers, this weekend's racing will be their only competition for the year.

In between VW Warwick weekends, the drivers work on their cars and share in the excitement of being a VW owner.

There will be racing on Sunday from 9am in conjunction with the Show 'n' Shine. Nominations for Show 'n' Shine on the day.

Association vice-president John Loy said six to eight locals would show off their VWs in the Show 'n' Shine.

The first VW action of the weekend will be tonight's Dyno competition at Warwick Dragway, which will be free for spectators.

Admission to the Warwick Dragway for the VW Warwick weekend is $10 a day with children under 13 free. The canteen will be operating both days.
