Walk in, walk away: Sales service leaves shopper dismayed

A TOOWOOMBA resident looking for a new car has spoken out about the poor customer service they received, which in the end resulted in them going elsewhere to make their purchase.

This is their story:

I spent yesterday afternoon wandering around a car yard for 40 minutes in the new car section and was not approached by a single salesperson.

Hardly surprising after the phone call I had with a sales person about the price of a new vehicle.

The female salesperson was particularly inflexible on price to the tune of being almost $8000 more expensive for the same model and make vehicle from a dealership in Mackay.

I walk with a cane and meandered in and out of the new cars without being approached.

After 40 minutes I became frustrated and looked back into the office and saw members of the sales team milling about inside.

At that time of the afternoon I was the only person in the yard.

Business must be good here if they do not want my money.

I left the business feeling disillusioned but not surprised.

My brother received similar treatment from a pushy sales person wanting to know how much he wanted to spend before showing him the range.

He took his business to Warwick.

I took my business elsewhere in Toowoomba and within two hours had purchased a new vehicle.

The staff were exceptionally helpful and considerate of my limited mobility.

This business needs to lift its game, but in hindsight, if their service had not been so poor, I would not have come away with a gorgeous new car from a superb dealership.
