Walker and Bourke set to open for Maryvale
CRICKET: Dave Walker and Michael Bourke are set to open the bowling for the Maryvale XI in the Cooper/ Bourke Cup game at Maryvale today.
The first ball will be bowled at 9.30am in the third game organised by former Sheffield Shield wicketkeeper Lew Cooper and Maryvale Cricket Club president Kevin Bourke.
The Maryvale club has a team of 11, two less than in some past games when team organisers didn't have to face the difficult task of who to leave out, they played 13.
Queensland Bulls paceman Mark Steketee was approached to play with his former club Maryvale but is committed to a Queensland training session this morning.
The Lew Cooper XI will be led by former Queensland Sheffield Shield batsman Mark Gaskell.
Umpires are Maurice Ryan and Neil O'Connor.
