Wanted for filming: final scene set for Monday
WARWICK and surrounding districts have been in focus lately, with the filming of television series Wanted across the region.
The series is set to star some of Australia's top talent, including Rebecca Gibney, Steve Peacocke, Nicholas Bell and Geraldine Hakewill.
Producer Andrew Walker said the region grabbed their attention during a hunt for a variety of locations in north and south-east Queensland.
"We were looking for a whole bunch of different looks as the story traverses the country," Mr Walker said.
"We needed a region that was practical and delivered variety.
"It looks amazing on screen."
Filming has been taking place for close to four weeks across the region, including locations at Warwick, Stanthorpe, Killarney, Clifton, Allora and Maryvale.
"The architecture in Allora and Clifton in particular has a really distinctive, historical look," Mr Walker said.
With landscape around the region ranging from scrubby bushland to open plains, all within 30-40 minutes of Warwick, Mr Walker said it was an ideal location.
"We've really been able to take advantage of the region with the huge variety offered as a whole," he said.
Mr Walker said residents had been very accommodating, with the extras doing an exceptional job.
"Sadly we finish filming on Monday. It really has been a lovely home away from home," he said.
"I would absolutely film here again without a second's hesitation."
The series is expected to air on Channel 7 some time next year.
