Wanted man caught after accident

A MAN’S day went from bad to worse this afternoon after a piece of metal flew off a truck driving in front of him and went through his windscreen hitting him in the face.

But the drama which took place at 12.20pm on the Cunningham Highway five kilometres west of Warwick didn’t end there.

Senior Constable Darren Black said the police attended the scene where it was discovered the man was driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle, with New South Wales plates.

Upon further investigation, the police learnt the man had a warrant issued against him for failing to appear and he was later arrested.

“He was just out driving and minding his own business and now he is sitting in our cells,” Snr Const Black said.

The NSW man is in custody and will appear in the Warwick Magistrates Court tomorrow facing charges of driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle, failing to appear and the original charges.
